Welcome to the letters of the poets Robert Browning (RB) and Elizabeth Barrett Barrett (EBB).
EBB and RB corresponded regularly starting on January 10, 1845.
Their 573 letters from January 1845-September 1846 cover a wide range of topics, from philosophy to literature to poetry — and, of course, serve as a chronicle of their growing love for each other. The letters will be posted on this website on the same date that the letters were originally postmarked in 1845 and 1845. Subscribe, and you’ll receive the letter in your email once it’s been posted – in all senses of that word. It’s a great way to bring the love between two quintessential 19th century romantics into your own 21st century world.
